Where will the photo shoot take place?
Photo sessions are organised in the comfort of your family home or at a location you feel will bring out the best of your child. At home kids are a lot more relaxed, the familiar environment helps them be at ease with the camera and soon they may even forget it's there.
For newborn babies, I will set up a small studio corner in one of the rooms and we can take as long as it's needed until we get the right shots. Being at home means easy nappy changes and a place to sleep when it all gets too much and it's time to take a little rest.
Another option is to go to the local park, riverside or any other location that feels special to you and the kids. Activities like walking the dog, kicking a ball or just playing in the garden are great for spontaneous and candid pictures.
How long will it take?
There is no set time limit for your session. We will take as long as it is needed until we are all happy with the results. Younger children normally get tired in a few hours so I make sure we make the most of our first hour or two together.
It is a good idea to organise the shoot in the morning when the kids are full of energy and at their most playful. There will be plenty of time for feeding, nappy changes etc. to let the child take a break and not feel rushed. With newborns and babies we will adapt the photo session to his or her routine. If it's sleep time, we'll do the sleeping shots first and once they are awake we'll make the most of it for some beautiful portraits of the little ones happy and alert. Newborn sessions can take anything for two to five hours depending on how settled the baby is, so please leave youd day free for the session so we don't feel pressed for time.
Will you be bringing any props to the session?
Sure, I have a selection of props that I always take with me for my newborn baby photography. I have various baby hats and accessories as well as baskets, but of course you're more than welcome to incorporate your own props into the photo shoot to make the images more personal to your family. A lot of my clents have blankets knitted by grandparents, toys given as presents, and letters spelling the baby's name, so these can all make great photo props during your baby's photo shoot.
What happens after the photoshoot?
Once we're all happy with the session, I'll go home, process the images and within a few days of your Baby or Family Photography session I will be able to give you a little preview of your pictures. To complete artworking all images from your photoshoot in London I will normally need 2 to 3 weeks, but depending on how busy I am, you may receive your pictures sooner. High quality images and keeping my clients happy is my number one priority and I will do my best to deliver the high standard of service you all expect and deserve.
Can I order additional prints and books at a later date?
That's not a problem. I keep all images securely stored on my hard disk, so just get in touch with any further order enquiries. I also have a selection of products available to order after your family or baby photography session. Feel free to brouse through my range of keepsake albums, photobooks and frames.
