10 things to keep in mind when considering booking a Newborn or Family photography session

When is the best time to book a photo session?

It’s never too early to drop me a line and check availability. If you are currently expecting, I will pencil you in my diary to ensure I have a slot saved for you once the baby arrives. If the little one has already arrived, the sooner you get in touch, the better.  I will do my best to accommodate you if my schedule allows. For family and pregnancy photography , a couple of months in advance is recommended to ensure we book a day of your preference.

What are your prices and packages?

I have a selection of packages depending on your preference and budget.  For a full list of prices and options, head to my BOOK A SHOOT page.

What areas of London do you cover?

I am based in SW London but I cover all areas of London and parts of Surrey.  A lot of my clients are in Clapham, Wimbledon,  Battersea, Richmond, Putney, Chelsea, Kensington, Kingston upon Thames, Twickenham, Ealing, Notting Hill, Islington, Highgate, Acton, Barnes, Paddington, Regent’s Park, Bayswater, Pimlico.

How do I book a photo shoot date if my baby hasn't been born yet?

Once you have confirmed your booking, I will pencil you in my diary and we will set a photography day when the baby arrives. It’s best to try and arrange the session in the first 2 weeks if possible.

Do you do photo sessions in client's home?

Yes, I will come to you with everything we need for the photo shoot. All newborn images you see on my pages have been taken in a home environment.

Can I come to your studio?

I work exclusively at my clients homes to make the whole process as easy as possible. As a mobile London newborn baby photographer I come to you with all necessary equipment and props. You can relax in the comfort of your home while I am working with your little one.

Can parents, siblings and pets be on some of the pictures?

Of course, everyone is welcome to join. For a combination of baby and family pictures, you would be looking at one of my family packages listed on my BOOK A SHOOT page.

What shall we wear?

Clothes for parents are personal to each family depending of your preferred style and character. As a general advise, white or pastel colors, or a simple black top always work well. It’s best to avoid strong patterns as they tend to distract and overpower an image.

I have missed the newborn stage. Is it too late and what other milestone do you recommend?

If your baby has already passed the newborn stage, it just means you may get more of the awake pictures. There are plenty of ways to make the most of your photo session, regardless of the baby’s age. I will adapt my style to what works best on the day. Eyes wide open, looking at the camera lens, first smiles, first tummy time, sitting up at 6 months and laughing.. Different moments present themselves at different stages. I am there to capture them!

What if my child has baby acne or scratches?

I get a lot of mums asking if they should reschedule because of baby acne or last minute scratches. In the majority of cases that’s really not necessary as I will be able to retouch the skin in postproducion. If you think the skin has been particularly badly affected, do check with me first by sending a small snapshot.
